June 2011. The beautiful outdoor setting at the Portola Inn with the lush lawn, shady oak trees, and lovely landscaping was perfect. Tom and Peggy O’Malley have hosted so many events at the Portola Inn that they know how to make everything flow smoothly. From the guest arrivals, to the ceremony, to the appetizer hour, to the reception and ending with dancing in the Carriage House, everything was a breeze. Peggy’s expertise as the event coordinator was invaluable during all of the months leading up to our wedding. She and Tom listened to our daughter’s ideas and helped make her dreams come true. The night before the wedding, our groomsmen and the groom stayed in the Portola Inn Guest House and the ladies stayed inside the main house. It was nice to have such lovely accommodations for the young people, with plenty of space to get dressed and take photos on the day of the wedding. Peggy and Tom served a wonderful homemade breakfast to all of the wedding party, which added to the fun of the day. Opportunities fore creative photographs abound throughout the property. During the wedding, Peggy and Tom and their staff took care of all logistics, from parking to setting up and clearing tables and chairs, to coordinating all of the vendors. After the wedding, our oldest daughter said “Mom, that’s the fastest I’ve ever cleaned up after the wedding.” Peggy and Tom took care of everything. All of the vendors that we used from the Portola Inn suggested vendor list were wonderful. We felt like we were being taken c are of by “family.” Holding our daughter’s wedding at the Portola Inn was truly a dream come true and a blessing we will always cherish.
